A particularly delicious meal was served in Caius Senior Parlour before the meeting proper. Those present were: the Garter King of Arms, Sir Colin Cole; Dr & Mrs Wright, Nick Cox, Charmian Leaver, Andrew Scott, Paul Fox, Mark Nash-Williams, John Horton and James Sergeant.

After the meal we were treated to an extremely interesting talk about the history of the Order of the Garter, well-illustrated with a number of slides, including some of stall-plates incorporating the Garter in their design. We were also reminded that the Garter was originally a sword-belt rather than a device for keeping stockings in their pklace. At the end of the meeting there was time for questions.
