• Notes

  On 6 November 1436 the King took his homage and fealty and he had livery of his father's lands. [11] He was appointed a commissioner to treat with the Scots, some ten times, from 27 August 1449 to 22 August 1492. [12] He was a trier of petitions in Parliament in 1453. [13] He was suspected of being unfaithful to the Lancastrian cause in January 1460/61. [14] He was a trier of petitions in the first Parliament of Edward IV. [15] He accompanied the King in his expedition to the North in November 1462. [16] On 23 May 1464 he was pardoned for all offences, and for all debts due from him to the King. [17] On 14 November 1464 he and the Earl of Warwick were appointed to appear at York on 26 November and prorogue the Parliament sitting there until 21 January following at Westminster. [18] He was appointed a commissioner to treat concerning the marriage between James, son of the King of Scots, and Cecily, younger daughter of Edward IV. [19]
