Text | "In The Name of God Amen, I John Bacchus of Welton in the East Riding of the County of York Esquire being of Sound and Disposing Mind and Memory praised be God Do make This my Last Will and Testament first I give and Bequeath unto Mary Laybourne Daughter of Henry Laybourn Clerk and Esther his Wife the Sum of one Thousand pounds also I give and Bequeath unto the said Esther Laybourne the Sum of five hundred pounds also I Give and Bequeath unto Mary Huntington Wife of William Huntington Clerk the Sum of three Thousand pounds also I Give and Bequeath unto Bacchus Wilkinson James Wilkinson Elizabeth Harrison and Andrew Coates Children of Jane Coates Widow the sum of four hundred and fifty pounds apiece whereas my cousing [sic] Katherine Bacchus is Indebted To me in the Sum of Eight hundred pounds upon Bond my Will is That the said Sum of Eight hundred pounds shall be Continued in her hands for and during her Natural Life free and clear of my Interest for the same also I Give and Devise unto The said Catherine Bacchus and her assigns all my Real Estate in the parish of Cottingham in the said Riding of the County of York aforesaid for and During her Natural Life only and for and after the Decease of the sd. Katherine Bacchus I Give and Devise all my Said Estate in Cottingham aforesaid or in the parish Thereof unto the said Mary Huntington and her heirs for Ever also I give and Bequeath unto my Godsons Sherman Rooksby Lillingston Thompson William Huntington John Huntington and Bacchus Huntington and also To my Goddaughter the Said Mary Laybourne The Sum of one hundred pounds apiece which said sum of one hundred pounds To the said Mary Laybourne [is] over and above the said sum of one Thousand pounds hereinbefore Given to her and as To all The Rest and Residue of my personal Estate whatsoever after and subject To the payment of my Debts Funeral Charges and sd. Legacies I give and Bequeath The same and Every part Thereof unto The said Mary Huntington and Esther Laybourne Equally Between Them and I Do hereby Make ordain Constitute and appoint the said Mary Huntington and Esther Laybourne joint Executors of This my Last Will and Testament and Lastly I Do hereby Revoke and make void all former Will and Wills By me at any Time heretofore Made and Declare This only To be my Last Will and Testament In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal This Third Day of February In the Year of Our Lord Christ One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Nine, The Mark of John Bacchus. Signed Sealed Published and Declared By the above Named John Bacchus The Testator as and for His Last Will and Testament in The presence of us Who have hereunto subscribed our Names as Witnesses Thereunto in His presence and in The presence of Each other.
