"In the name of God Amen I Christopher Bacchus of Southwood in the parish of Cottingham and County of York Gent. doe make this my last will and Testamt. in manner and forme following viz. I doe hereby ratify and confirm all ye Securities upon my Estate and doe charge all my Estate as well personall as real with the paymt. of all my just debts It[e]m I give and devise unto my Dear Sister Catharine Bacchus all that Messuage Cottage or Tenemt. with the appurten[an]ces and Seven Closes of arrable meadow or pasture ground in Southwood aforesaid and an Oxgang of Land in Cottingham field all now in the possession of Widow Wildbore To hold to her her heires and assignes for ever It[e]m I give to Will[ia]m the Son of Will[ia]m Fenwick of Hull Merchant the Sume of one hundred pounds and to my Godson Christopher Son of John Huntington of Melton Gent: the Sume of one hundred pounds to be respectively paid to them when they shall respectively ar[r]ive at the age of one and twenty yeares but in case the said Christopher Huntington shall dye before he shall attaine his said age of one and twenty then I give and bequeath the said sum[m]e of one hundred pounds to his Sister Mary Huntington to be paid to her when she shall attaine the age of one and twenty or be married All the rest of my real and p[er]sonall Estate I give to my two Dear Sisters the said Catharine Bacchus and Elizabeth Fothergill widow (Subject nevertheless to the paymt. of all my debts Legacies and funerall Expences) and make them joynt Ex[ecu]trixes of this my said will In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the 29th day of January Anno D[omi]ni 1723 Chris Bacchus Signed Sealed published and declared by the Testator as and for his last will and Testamt: in the p[rese]nce of us John Huntington Thomas Arkle Saml.
